Things To Do and See in Concord / Charlotte:
Lowes Motor Speedway- In addition to the big NASCAR races at the Super Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway is also home to a dirt track series, car shows and many other events throughout the year. There is always something to do at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Nascar SpeedPark- Take Go Karts and combine them with the thrill of NASCAR racing and you get Concord's NASCAR SpeedPark. Just minutes from Lowe's Motor Speedway, NASCAR SpeedPark offers several different track racing experiences. Visitors can get an all-day wristband for $29.99, a season pass for $49.99 or a year-long pass for $120.
Concord Mills Mall- Concord Mills is the Charlotte area's only outlet mall. Even though some of the retailers are not outlet stores, many are and offer deep discounts on name-brand merchadise. With over 200 retailers and restaurants, Concord Mills is a favorite spot. But, if you're traveling to Concord from Charlotte be prepared to spend several hours as the mall takes some time to get through. For kids, Concord Mills offers a carousel in the middle of the food court area.
Time Warner Cable Arena- Opened in 2005, this is the home of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers. Time Warner Cable Arena also hosts the biggest concerts in the city, as well as many other events. One of the most striking features of the arena is the scoreboard/video display. Featuring the largest video screen in use in any NBA facility in history, a three-dimensional city skyline above the scoreboard features the Charlotte skyline and uses a projection system that allows the sky to change and feature graphics such as airplanes and fireworks and night-time or daytime skies.
Museums- Charlotte is home to a variety of museums. You can learn about the history of Charlotte, the history of the South, view historic warplanes, take in artwork from top national and international artists, or visit with eagles, vultures and other birds of prey. Charlotte Museum of History, Carolinas Aviation Museum, Levine Museum of the New South, Discovery Place, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, NASCAR Hall of Fame
