The North Carolina Licensed Home Inspector Association (NCLHIA)
was formed in 1997 to provide a professional organization
for all home inspectors licensed in North Carolina. The
Association adopted as its mission statement:
"The mission of the NCLHIA, the premier nonprofit
association of licensed home inspectors in North Carolina, is
to promote excellence and exemplary practice within the
profession, and to meet the needs of the home buying/selling
public".
Licensure is accomplished by meeting stringent
requirements set by the State of North Carolina and passing a
comprehensive examination administered by the Home Inspector
Licensure Board.
At present, there are more than 400 members of NCLHIA. The
Association is managed by a Board of
Directors and an Executive Director.
Annual dues are one hundred fifty dollars ($150) and are due
and payable by June 1st, annually there after. THE MEMBERSHIP
YEAR RUNS FROM JUNE 1 TO MAY 31 ANNUALLY.
The Association is organized into eight chapters that hold
monthly educational/business meetings. These chapters are
conveniently located throughout the state and are generally
within an hour's drive for most home inspectors.
